Olive Tapenade

More than a century ago, a gentleman in the Provence region of France, Monsieur Meynier conceived the first tapenade recipe. It was a delicate blend of finely chopped olives, capers, anchovies and olive oil. His creation was hailed far and wide and many variations became popular throughout Europe, but it is Provence that is still associated with the wonderous tasting spreads. In fact, tapenades have been nicknamed “the black butter of Provence,” as well as “the caviar of the poor.”

It’s Tapenade! Remember that wonderful black olive spread you recently smeared on bread at your favorite restaurant? We make products for the American Lifestyle and bring restaurant cuisine to your cocktail table. We created a line of fresh tapenades to be served at home, at parties, on picnics and tailgating. These tapenades sport the exotic flavors of the Mediterranean – olives, a touch of capers, pimento, roasted garlic, and olive oil (65 day shelf life). Can be frozen for up to 6 months for year-round enjoyment
